A solid business policy and decades of experience in renewable energy that is what Energiekontor has stood for since its founding in Bremerhaven in 1990. The company is one of the pioneers of the industry and today one of Germany's leading project developers and an independent power producer. Its core business spans the planning, construction, and operational management of wind and solar parks in Germany and abroad, with solar added to the portfolio in 2010.
Operating Capacity and Economic Goals
Energiekontor operates wind and solar parks with a nominal output of around 330 megawatts in its own portfolio. The company aims to play a pioneering role in economic terms by realising the first wind and solar parks in each of its target markets at market prices as quickly as possible, independently of state subsidies a clear competitive lever as renewables move into the post-subsidy era.
Global Presence and Locations
In addition to its Bremen headquarters, Energiekontor has German offices in Bremerhaven, Hagen im Bremischen, Aachen, Augsburg, Bernau bei Berlin, Berlin Spandau, and Potsdam. International offices span England (Leeds), Scotland (Edinburgh, Glasgow), Portugal (Lisbon), the USA (Houston/Texas and Rapid City/South Dakota), and France (Toulouse, Rouen) providing local development presence in each of the company's growth markets.
Achievements, Milestones & Listing
Since founding, Energiekontor has realised 130 wind farms and 12 solar parks with a total output of more than 1 gigawatt, representing an investment volume of around €1.8 billion. The company went public on 25 May 2000, and the Energiekontor AG share (WKN 531350 / ISIN DE0005313506) is listed in the General Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and tradable on all German stock exchanges.
