VARTA AG is a heritage German battery manufacturer with a brand history stretching back to 1887, operating across two principal segments serving OEM, industrial, consumer, and residential energy-storage customers worldwide. The Group combines a long-standing presence in primary batteries with modern lithium-ion and energy-storage capabilities developed over the last decade.
Microbatteries & Solutions Segment
The "Microbatteries & Solutions" segment focuses on the OEM business for microbatteries used in hearing aids, true-wireless earbuds, medical devices, and industrial applications together with the lithium-ion battery-pack business that serves specialised industrial and mobility customers requiring high-energy, compact cells.
Household Batteries Segment
The "Household Batteries" segment covers the consumer-facing battery business sold under the well-known VARTA brand. It includes household primary batteries, rechargeable batteries, chargers, portable power, and residential energy-storage systems leveraging one of the most recognised consumer-battery brands in Europe.
Global Operations & Listing
VARTA's operating subsidiaries are active in more than 75 countries worldwide, with five production and assembly facilities in Europe and Asia plus distribution centres in Asia, Europe, and the USA. VARTA AG has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since October 2017.
