Industrial-scale 3D printing
voxeljet AG (NASDAQ: VJET) is a leading global provider of industrial 3D printing systems and on-demand printing services with roots reaching back to 1995, when the first successful dosing of UV-resins was demonstrated. Within a "hidden" research project, initial 3D-printing tests were performed at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), laying the foundation for what would become a publicly listed additive-manufacturing pioneer.
Founding and Vision
The company was founded on 5 May 1999 as a spin-off from TUM in Munich, with a clear vision: to establish a new manufacturing standard by developing generative processes for the series production of complex components using 3D printing. Operations launched with just four employees at the university and have since grown into a globally active industrial-technology business.
