After 25 years in the equity business, seat11a founder Sanjay Oberoi understands the problems facing the industry better than (just about) anyone.
Sanjay has worked for numerous big names in the sector, including Fidelity Investment, Allianz Global Investor, Union Investment, Kepler Cheuvreux, and Warburg. Having been on both the sell-side and buy-side, he also has a bird’s eye view of how the finance world works, which helped him identify the problems and solutions that led to seat11a’s inception.
When he’s not putting in the hours to grow the company or researching his next investment opportunity, Sanjay is a keen advocate for animal welfare and an active member of various animal rescue organizations.

Over his 23-year-long professional career, Yusuf has worked in cash equity trading, sales trading, and sales for major names.
Think WGZ-Bank, BayernLB, HypoVereinsbank, Santander, and Metzler.
His most recent role was as Managing Director and Head of Equity Sales & Equity Sales Trading at Lampe Capital UK Ltd. In other words, he’s a safe pair of hands.
Gernot has a Master’s in Business Administration and 25 years of experience in the finance sector, including a post as Research Analyst and Portfolio Manager at a Top 3 German fund management company.
Not a bad track record.
Most recently, Gernot worked as a Senior Investment Manager for one of Germany’s largest corporate pension funds. He’s currently studying toward his PhD alongside his role at seat11a.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Humboldt University in Berlin, Adrian went on to a high-flying career in equity research.
Before joining us, he worked at a top German fund and corporate finance at a leading German boutique investment bank.
Now, he helps our Eastern Europe efforts while also working as a Manager Partner at a leading investment research firm.
Eric has worked as a cash equity sales-trader in Madrid for almost a quarter of a century. Throughout this time, he’s liaised with Spanish, European, and US clients on behalf of major banks like BBVA, BNP Paris, and Banco Santander.
Over the past few years, Eric’s interest in company and market fundamentals has broadened into curiosity about the application of technology in financial markets.
The rest is history.
Mats has worked in equity sales for almost 24 years, so saying he’s a specialist in the area would be an understatement.
His resume includes companies and clients from across the world, primarily Nordic banks and brokers in London and New York.
He now leads our Nordic sales efforts alongside nurturing his interest in technology and stocks.
Mats is spearheading our office in Stockholm.
He might not be a conventional board member, but don’t judge a book by its cover — Balou has six years of experience as a cybersecurity K9.
He also serves as the in-office cuddly bear, which is arguably the most crucial role in the company.
If you ever need to come into our office, be sure to remember his treat for a guaranteed hassle-free entry.
Balou´s home base is the city of Frankfurt.

How did we come up with our name?
We get asked a lot about where we got our unusual name from, and if you’re a frequent flyer, you might have an inkling about where it comes from.
While working in the investment industry, we did our fair share of traveling to visit clients and companies. This taught us the importance of extracting as much value as possible from each dollar we spend — and on the Airbus 321, that meant selecting the seat 11a.
It’s a principle that perfectly encompasses our mission to help firms and investors get maximum value from minimal inputs. Why spend hours in meetings, presentations, and research when you could simply head to seat11a and find out everything you need to know in one 5-minute video?
As a team with more than 150 years of experience, we’ve learned the hard way that efficiency means everything in the investment world.
